BFRW had a great meeting with Rockledge Councilman Duane Daski at our Evening with the Councilman event.

Members and guests engaged in a thoughtful discussion covering a wide range of topics — from the duties of the City Council and City Manager, to healthcare access following the hospital closure, managing the balance between new apartment developments and preserving the character and financial stability of the community, waste management, public safety, road maintenance, and the importance of conservative leadership and more.

When asked what one thing he would never want to change about Rockledge, Councilman Daski’s answer was heartfelt: “The community — the rich history and heritage I fell in love with over 30 years ago.”

Councilman Duane Daski generously gave out three copies of the book “One Hundred Years of Rockledge — The Centennial History of Brevard County’s Oldest City” to members who correctly answered questions about Rockledge’s history and facts. It was a fun and educational way to celebrate the city’s proud heritage while engaging people in learning more about their community.

It was a meaningful and informative evening, reflecting the strong connection between engaged citizens and their local leaders.
